Delta Montrose Technical College...Bring the Fun Indoors This Summer. As the summer days heat up, why not go inside for some cool summer fun. The Delta Montrose Technical college is offering a full line of summer classes for fun and education.

The Delta Montrose Technical College is a public school. It draws students from a wide area of the Western Slope. The college offers professional programs for students looking for a career, but the focus of this information is on the fun classes being offered this summer.

The fun classes are referred to by the college as personal development classes. These classes cover a wide range of interests. Past classes have been offered on painting, drawing, creative writing, quilting, wood carving, cake decorating, selling on ebay, photography and fly fishing. Class offerings are always changing and the schedule varies depending on the instructor. There are also classes that teach computer skills.

So as the summer months heat up, cool down indoors and try something new and different. The personal development classes could be a great time for the family, or a way for mom or dad to do something special for themselves. This is education just for the fun of it.

Debbie, It would be a good time to learn something new or try something that has been in the back of your mind. I always thought a painting class would be fun or singing lessons but they may not offer that.

Hello Debbie, well I would love the "fun classes" I use to oil paint but after I graduated I could never get back into it and I was really good... I thought... othes might have not thought so, you know the ones I gave my paintings to...lol

I think its great that the Delta Montrose Technical College offers these classes to benefit the community, what a wonderful organization. Great blog on this Localism.

Good question Debbie, I really can't remember! I imagine it's been 10 years. A few years ago we visited the fam in Hotchkiss and Paonia- but I don't think we went to Delta. In the old Gunnison Days, which was a hundred years ago, my friends and I would drive to Delta occasionally to shop!

That's so funny, Mary. Now we leave the Delta area to shop in Montrose or Grand Junction. There's a Kohls in Grand Junction, and my family loves that store. But anyway, we are still very rural here. I live in Cedaredge. About 1800 people.
