I went for a short jog this morning through the town of Yreka, CA this morning, it is a small town. Many of the government building are nestled in the residential area of town and are quite small compared to most cities. I could not believe the size of the county jail, I guess there is not much crime in the Yreka area.
That should make you feel safer about staying there Tom! Says alot about a community.

Al and Peggy - I did feel very comfortable walking around town, even at night.
Toni - I just heard today that there was Federal funding for a larger jail. They will be moving some of the state prisoners into the new site. The badies are coming!
