Print? Internet? When it comes to marketing, I use both. They work best together in my opinion. Just like cream and sugar, it makes the coffee taste better.
Some areas, maybe even most these days, will do best with internet marketing. In a busy city, the internet is definitely the way to go. In a small town or a resort area, however, print media in the form of magazines and brochures has a big role to play in effective marketing. Kerrville is a retirement haven and we have lots of tourism here as well. With over 300 summer camps along the Guadalupe River, tourism makes up a large part of our economy. People come here in the summer with their children, hunters come in the Fall and Winter, and wildflower lovers, nature lovers and cyclists enjoy year round entertainment.
Tourists don't like to spend all their time on the computer searching for properties. They will drive around neighborhoods, look at flyers, pick up brochures in various locations including the Chamber of Commerce, and everyone visits the grocery store. Coming out of the fabulous HEB grocery, you will find stands of real estate magazines. In fact, every convenience store in town has them as well. Visit a restaurant and you can read a real estate magazine while waiting for your dinner to cook.
Homes & Land is our favorite magazine. We get lots of leads from the printed version. For those that want the internet, yes, there is an internet version too. We could not do without our print media. It brings in lots of business.
We sell to many seniors and we find that many of them do not even own a computer. Therefore, without the print media, they would not be coming to us. Print media is in our marketing plan and will be for many years to come.
