Active Rain is all about sharing ideas. Yet we have to climb in the rankings. How best to do both? I truly try to share great ideas when I can, however I do blog directly to localism.com. Addressing local knowledge is king.

Vickie:
Yes, I my opinion you have the priorities correct - building and maintaining the businees.
Look at AR as a resource to help you do that.  Yes, Localism is the vehicle to get the word to the public and AR posts to ask for help from your fellow agents. But that comes at a cost too.  Be prepared to give us (your fellow agents) feedback when we ask via our posts. You will be surpised at what can be learned in the process.  There are AR members that have great marketing ideas and web presentation information to share.
So I guess the answer to your questions - 'How to do both?'; is participate.  The reward is growth.  Do not just use AR as a path to Localism.
Looking forward to see/hear you on the rain.

I was hoping to read a bit more on the subject!  What else do you like about AR?  Do you just post in your state section of localism or do you post to the city and even to the neighborhoods?  I have done a lot of Localism posting, too, and I love the site as a tool.

Sort of new to both blogging and to Real Estate.  I use AR right now as a learning tool as well as a Social Network.  Am still trying to get a feel for Localism.
