Sam Houston Racepark

Sam Houston Race Park is Houston's premier racing facility. The Race Park is located in Northwest Houston right off beltway 8, between 290 & I 45, at Fairbanks North Houston Road.

There is always something happening at the park to entertain you. T Sam Houston Racepark here is live or simulcast horse racing 365 days a year and many other fun activities as well such as July 4th fireworks & Elvis night. During the summer, there is live music every Friday and Saturday nights. This last summer there were wonderful bands such as the Charlie Daniels Band, Tracy Byrd & Zona Jones to name a few.

Sam Houston Race Park holds 18,000 fans and is also available for catering and private events throughout the year.

The racepark is presenting the Texas Stallians on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008. The thoroughbred social event features two high dollar stake races. Ticket packages include:
Reserved seating for live racing, racing program, tip sheet, dinner entrée & beverage- Ticket prices start at $19.00.

I never went to the racetrack when I lived in Houston. Was the racetrack there back in 1991? It sounds like it would be a fun afternoon outing!!

Tracy - It was built after 1991, but can't remember the exact year. I am guessing about 1997 approx.

Candy~I love going to horse races. When I was a little girl my aunts dad had a horse "bananas" that we would watch race all the time. What a fun experience.
