Baby Bloomers is a program for children ages 3 and under and their caregivers. Austin Children’s Museum is open on Monday mornings exclusively for this age group to discover the Museum’s exhibits in a relaxed atmosphere.
9th Annual Texas 4000 For Cancer Atlas Ride
When: June 1, 2013, 8:00 a.m.
Admission: $50
Now in its ninth year, the Texas 4000 for Cancer is a University of Texas at Austin student-led non-profit organization. The organization sends a cycling team more than 4,500 miles on the world’s longest charitable ride. Come out to Running Brushy Middle School to support the riders, as well as the fight against cancer.
13th Annual Soul to Sole Festival Showcase
When: June 14, 2013, 8:00 p.m.
Admission: $20-25
This annual showcase is a way to bring dancers from around the country to the home of the International Tap Association. Come out for a night of entertainment and your feet will want to keep the rhythm of this wonderful American art form.
11th Annual Keep Austin Weird Festival and 5K
When: June 22, 2013, 2:00-10:00 p.m.
Admission: $35+
This annual event is sure to be an entertaining one! Dress up in your wackiest costume and run, skip or jump across the finish line. The race is unofficially known as the “slowest 5k you’ll ever run” and will throw unexpected twists that will keep you energized and excited the whole time. Come out and spend a day with great local food, drinks and people at this crazy Austin extravaganza.
2013 Turtle Racing Season at Little Woodrow’s West Sixth Street
When: Every Friday
Admission: Free
The turtle racing season is underway at Little Woodrow’s. Tickets are complementary and are required for participation. Come out for an extended happy hour and plenty of entertainment.
