If you are new to Denver, planning to live in Denver, or have been here forever - a must see at some point is the Hammond's Candy Factory. Located on Washington Street on the north side of Denver, Hammond's Candy Factory is a fun stop for everyone. My kids have been recently and they sure did get their sugar fix for the day.
Hammond's is most known for their thick candy canes, ribbon candy and swirled lollipops but they do make chocolates as well. It is really quite amazing to see how they make the candy canes and lollipops with all that swirl in them and the ribbon candy crimper is pretty cool too.

Free tours are available on Monday through Saturdays and run about every 30 minutes. The tour is short & sweet - literally sweet, as candy
samples are offered in the tour waiting room and at the end of the tour. A small waiting area also provides ice cream for sale as well as a few small souvenirs and goodies but the ending lands you in the large candy shop where all type of treats will greet you. My children spent more time in the store than on the tour I think.
If you are thinking of going closer to the end of the year, be sure to check on the dates and times for the annual Candy Cane Festival. A long time Denver favorite, my own kids visited this festival on their very first trip to Hammond's.
