How Long Does It Take You To Respond To An Email?

Amanda, an agent should be able to respond to email or phone messages within a day.   If they cannot get back within a 24 hours period, they are doing a disservice to their sellers.     

Hi Amanda - you hit on one of my(many) pet peeves ---- for such a simple request you'd think the response would be pretty quick.  Unless, I'm with a client or otherwise unavailable, the response is within the hour -- there's no reason for days to pass but like others will probably comment -- been there, experienced that.   

Ugh, why is that agent in this business?  Won't be for long I am sure.  Let us know if your offer was accepted.

Yes, I am with you on this one. Some agents sure take their time responding. After a while I think they are on vacation. I respond ASAP and days later.

With both Larry & myself working together, one of us is always available to answer a text or email as soon as it's received. Sometimes we don't have cell coverage or wireless for our iPad, but as soon as we can, we answer...Unfortunately not every other Realtor responds quickly...or at all!

Great question you posed.  With all today's technology there is no excuse for not responding in a very timely manner to emails.  Debbie get's on to me for answering emails during our meals.  That's the one and only time I'm not suppose to be connected to online :)  Needless to say I respond ASAP and expect others to do the same. 

Horrific!  Obviously someone who isn't on top of things at all......hard to believe they are that busy.

Amanda - I ALWAYS repsond the same day and depending who it is sometimes within minutes. When I receive e-mails that like from other agents it's always within the hour.

Hi Amanda, it is very aggravating when a listing agent or buyer agent doesn't respond back at least with a text to let us know they did receive our message. I use to work for a company who got many REO properties and  a couple of the listing agents just didn't care if they responded they knew the properties would sell regardless. Sorry you had to go through all this craziness....... I've been in business 12+ years and it's always been that way with a few bad apples. Have a beautiful Weekend

I respond to most business related emails withing 15 minutes, usually less.  occasionally it will be up to 5 or 6 hours if with a client and it can wait.  All business related emails get an answer that business day.

Amanda, I usually respond as soon as possible and many times I feel a text works very well. I also notice that my emails to other agents take much longer for a response; however, they normally text me back within the hour and lots and lots of times, they text back almost immediately. Guess those cell phones are much handier.
