Ocala's Final Honor Flight - Final Anecdote Perfect for Memorial Day!
The story of
Ocala's Final Honor Flight
was brought home by one of the escorts.
He tells the story of how the weather in Washington DC on Thursday was not the greatest. Consequently the veterans spent a good part of the day touring indoors. When the weather finally broke the Vets were taken to the WWII memorial.
After only 15 minutes the veterans were given a choice of staying longer at that memorial or going to Arlington Nation Cemetary. Unanimously, they chose to see Arlington!
What a feeling as part of The Greatest Generation gets to see where many of the War buddies are buried.
Don't forget to remember these Vets and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our liberty and freedom this Memorial Day. "They Made it to Arlington"!
