Celebrating Memorial Day in Rhode Island

On this Monday,May 27th, Memorial Day of 2013, what is Memorial Day to you? Share in the comments your thoughts on this day...in memory of those who have fallen, those who still defend us and the men and women we give thanks to those that protect the freedoms of our lives everyday, every where.

RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI off of Route 2 will be honoring our Veterans at 1 p.m. with a solemn tribute. On Saturday, the local troops of Boy Scouts peppered the graves with flags in honor of our Veterans. On Saturday, I was able to listen to them as they put the flags out with respect and honor. They truly understand what these men and women have done for all of us.

Personally today I will be thinking of my Dad and all he gave to his country and other men and women I know who now rest here. I am so thankful for all they do.

Of course there are more than memories and thoughts here for our armed forces on Memorial Day and everyday...let it be everyday. Celebrating Memorial Day in Rhode Island.
