Sandy Springs, GA is a quaint little city that actually just recently became it's own city. It lays just outside the Atlanta border and straddles I285. Sandy Springs is where I go to work daily. It is truly a business mecca for outside of Atlanta.

Sandy Springs is accessible through Roswell Road or through GA 400 if you do not like all the lights. In my case, I travel south from my home and take GA 400 down to my exit and get off. It is anywhere from a 15 to 30 minute commute according to what time I leave. So, let's take a look at what Sandy Springs, GA has to offer you.

With that said, local business is the flavor of Sandy Springs. Now, do not get me wrong, there are some major businesses there, but it is the little shops that are thriving in Sandy Springs. As usual, all these pictures are active and you can click on them to get transported to the websites that they coincide with. From bookstores to nail salons, Sandy Springs has them all.

In the case of nature, or maybe getting back to nature, Big Tree Preserve is definitely an easy trail that you will want to check out. It explores the Power's Branch, a tributary of the Chattahoochee River and a ridge above the river. The land runs adjancent to Roswell Road and the trail has some wonderful views of the river.

This is by far not the only outdoors attraction is Sandy Springs. With that said, I could not even possibly make a dent in all they have to offer, so click on the pick to the right and you will be directed to a web page dedicated just for that. As you will be able to tell, there are plenty of activities to get out and get some fresh air.

Now, if religion is on your mind, and you need a place to worship, there are many outlets for that in Sandy Springs including something for the kids.

As for the hungry person in you, there are some great dining experiences here also. From El Azteca, to The 285 Line, to the Little European Bakery, there is something for everyone to enjoy. And, it does not stop there. The main chains are around too for you to enjoy.

Sandy Springs also has great educational centers. From their elementary schools, to the middle schools, to the high schools, you will find a top notch system in place. The education does not stop at the schools as Sandy Springs has a vast array of public Libraries.

Now, I am sure that there is a lot that is left out here, but I want to share a couple of photos that you can see all around Sandy Springs. These have no hyper links, so need to click on it. Thanks for taking a walk with me today through Sandy Springs and yall come on down and visit us, ya hear. To the left is a picture of a sculptured turtle that can be seen around almost all the government buildings here. On the right is a Sandy Springs sign.

Danny... how big is Sandy Springs? The population and how far outside of Atlanta?  That would have been some interesting info for an introduction to a town that seems to have much to offer.

This is a great highlight of a very nice ATL suburb. Being minutes from Atlanta's financial, shopping, and entertainment center called Buckhead, this is one of the most desirable areas in metro Atlanta. The MARTA system extends in all directions from Sandy Springs which is a definite plus if you are heading to a sporting or cultural event and do not want to drive. Good highlights here!

Brande, the turtles are everywhere. You mainly see them in front of a public service building though.

Danny, this is another great community profile. This suburb has a larger population than Lynchburg. Keep them coming!
