Things To Do This Summer in Beaverton . . . Attend Vacation Bible School
When I was a young girl I went to Valley Lutheran Church in Sun Valley, CA and loved Vacation Bible School. My Mother was a Sunday School Teacher and also taught Vacation Bible School.
In 1966, my Mother was called to be a teacher at Vacation Bible School in South Central Los Angeles. My Father thought she was crazy, but she said they needed a teacher and so my sister and I went to Vacation Bible School at Immanual Lutheran Church off of Florence, just a few blocks from Normandie. I was 8.
I had a great time, and can remember making friends with Beverly that summer. So many, many years ago . . . but I still remember.
When my son was about that same age, he went to Vacation Bible School too, and enjoyed it.
The watered down Hawaiian Punch was delicious, as were the stale Hydrox cookies we had for snack. One of my fond memories.
Now that summer is almost here, why not think about Vacation Bible School?
