Not liking where you are right now? Standing still will not change your surroundings but moving will bring you to a new place. We don’t always know what that place will be exactly but it will surely be different. This does require us to act; we must do things to create change.

Many years ago I was in a friends office in Kent WA when I noticed what I thought was the little train that could... the caption underneath said "you may be on the right track but move forward quickly or someone else on the right track will bump you off it" or something like that. Just being on the right path or right track isn't enough is it? Never stand still.

Stopping to reflect, outdoors on a mountain top or next to the waterfront, rushing H2O can help clear your head. Give you prospective. A day at a time to savor, consider, adjust is better than racing through life in a blur. Live in today, the moment and worry less how the movie of your life ends. The journey continues...enjoy the ride.

Is the divergence in the wood that makes all the difference up ahead?  Or is this the stairway, um, path to heaven?

Hi Tom,

This shot reminds me of a walkway in Vietnam. Not a good place to be when booby traps are all over the place.

Change is a good thing from time to time. I am contemplating a change as we speak.

Have a great Memorial Day in the Sacramento area.

Best, Clint McKie

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step but it is nice to have an idea where we are heading. Otherwise Tom any direction will take us there. I like how you illustrated this post with your path.

Tom - good thoughts and nice picture. They do go together well. And, yes, we have to keep moving-we really have no choice.

Hello Tom~ I'm on a new path and just need to get my footing. I'm excited about the journey, but I've had a few too many distractions.

I see that Tom is in deep philosophical thought today!  There are a number of universal truths that I adhere to. . .This is one of 'em.

Thanks for the comments. This is one of those photos that I can't help but think when looking at it. It was taken in Hawaii last year on an amazing day.
