As a Veteran, I want to send out a special "Thank you" to all who have served in the past and are presently serving our Country today. I am pleased we have set aside this day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in these United States of America. Like many of you, my readers, I've lost friends and family in the war, both in battle and for some as a result of the emotional scars that just would not heal. Freedom is TRULY NOT Free!!!
I did note this Memorial Day event in the Manassas area today. It begins at Noon in the Battlefield Park....
"Join park staff at Groveton Confederate Cemetery in observance of Memorial Day, for artillery and musketry salutes in memory of war dead. Reenactors from the 14th Brooklyn and 42nd Virginia Infantry will be on-hand to decorate the monuments with state flowers and flags. Ceremony begins at 12 noon."
