TN Blue-Eyed Grass...

Having talked to several gardeners, there seems to be a consensus that every gardener has their nemesis. For me, it was TN Blue-Eyed grass.
I would go to TN native plant sales and purchase them. I would carefully prepare the soil, gingerly plant them according to the sage wisdom of master gardeners, then watch them wither and die or not come back the next year.

Last year while mowing the lawn, I caught a glimpse of something familiar. Could it be? Yes! From out of no where, a volunteer began to sprout.
I did not do anything out of the ordinary --  I just left it alone to do its thing. This year, I have noticed 3 more volunteers sprouting in various places. I guess Dolly was right. Wild flowers don't care where they grow...

Good Morning Michael,

Now isn't that the most beautiful sight you've seen! Mother Nature had other plans and who could argue with Mother Nature? Those are flowers that inspire the poet, songwriter, and anyone who love nature. This jut goes to show, there's a higher power than the Master Gardener and you were instrumental in creating such beauty!

So, is this a metaphor that we should all be wild flowers and grow where we find ourselves?  Not a bad metaphor!

Michael I have heard of Kentucky Blue Grass, but never heard of TN Blue Eyed Grass.  It makes for a real nice plant.

Michael, if they were meant to be gently tendered, there would be no reason to call them wild
