Honoring one of our own for Memorial Day
Until this morning I was not aware that one of us, a member of our ActiveRain family, had lost a loved one while serving last year. And I know "us" and we want to ban together to support this family. Stop by this most Mark wrote last year about his son and let him know we're thinking about him. Please leave your comments on Mark's original post. This was their families first Memorial Day without their son. I can't imagine that.
As the 4th is now here I sit here thinking about the men and women who gave their lives for our country, most recently my son Adrian who passed away on active duty 2 weeks ago while serving in the Navy. I am extremely proud of how he served our nation for almost 5 years and through one tour of duty aboard the sub he was working on.
This hits home to many of you who have also lost sons, daughters, parents, uncles, aunts and friends. Each of them gave their ultimate sacrifice for our great nation and I am eternally thankful to each and everyone that gave their lives as well as those that have served and actively serve our nation like my other son Tyler in the Army.
Without these brave individuals we would not be who we are today. So I ask you that when you think of the 4th and fireworks and the fun associated with today, please take a moment to thank the folks that got us here today.
I am so very proud of you my son Adrian, thank you for serving our country.
