HouseHappy - Is it the New Pinterest for Property Listings? We've all heard of Pinterest. Besides being a fun place to post photos of our hobbies and interests, many of us use it for our business. It can be a valuable tool to drive traffic to our website or blog. Realtors® can upload a listing photo and link it back to the appropriate web page. Sharing photos and creating a community on Pinterest are also great ways of creating online visibility. But I wondered if there was a Pinterest-type place specifically designed for Realtors® to post their listings.

HouseHappy appears to be the Pinterest of listings. This is how HouseHappy describes itself, "We are a user generated, photo-driven real estate search engine. We are a platform for buyers, sellers, and brokers to connect, search, and post property for sale–for free".

Although HouseHappy doesn't syndicate, they do offer a one-click sharing option that goes to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and email. You'll also be given a badge to place on your website and blog. The site is mobile-ready.

By the way...you can learn more about this product by visiting their Frequently Asked Questions.

When I talk about a particular product or service on my blog, I have already found enough value in it to pass it on to my readers. This time, however, I'd like your feedback. Please click on the following short survey link. I'd love to know your thoughts about HouseHappy.

I have no affiliation with HouseHappy.  This survey is for getting valuable opinions for those people who would likely be using this product.

Pamela, thanks for writing this post. Since I am not an active Realtor I don't have an opinion myself but as an instructor I am interested in the opinions of others.

Hi Mary - When I create a post about a particular product or service, I generally know whether it will be helpful or not.  This time I'm not so sure.  The concept is good.  Just not sure about actual practice.  Like you, I'm anxious to hear what others have to say.

Hello Pamela, I came over from Mary's blog. I have heard of pinterest, although I have never been on their site. I had not heard of House Happy and will put both of these on my rainy day to do list!

P.S. I took the survey too. Although I see its merits, there just isn't enough time in the day to utilize all of these programs. Oh well, guess I will have to make time :)  Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Lisa.  I'm on the fence about this product.  I think it may have merit. Time will tell.  I appreciate your honest opinion.

Hi Marge - Thank you for responding.  In checking my survey results, I found that 33.33% have used HouseHappy and 66.67% have not.  Those who have used it rated their experience as good and found it to be a valuable service.  Most people were neutral as to whether or not they'd use it for their business.

Pamela, came over from Mary's blog and from "Ask an Ambassador" group. I have not tapped into Pinterest--been working so hard on other marketing strategies, like Real Bird for my real estate marketing as-of-late, as well as putting together a new website.

I think that I've heard of HouseHappy, but don't have any knowledge about it. I'm always keeping my senses for marketing strategies perked up for new "things" and will try to see if it comes into anyone else's view down-the-road.

Gotta bookmark this!

Hi Gayle - Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post.  If you've read some of the comments, you know HouseHappy has received mixed reviews.  I provide the information and let people decide for themselves.  I always appreciate feedback.

Hi Pamela, Thank you so much for posting about Househappy.org and gathering feedback!

For those that haven't yet had a chance to check out the site, here is a link to a recent interview on KGW, the local Portland Oregon News Channel that explains it a bit more. http://bit.ly/1037EJx.

We are seeing some great traffic on the site. Since launching in late March, we have been embraced by regional Portland brokerages like Realty Trust (realtytrust.com) as well as National brokerages such as Re/Max.

I am on the Business Development team within Househappy and would like to offer my assistance in learning about the site. We have designed a Broker Manual: A Guide to Get Started to help Brokers leverage Househappy to promote their real estate business. Please contact me if you would like to receive in an email or have any other questions. Thank you!
