As mentioned above, the district was formed in the middle of 1970 after the citizens of Oak Park were tired of driving to Simi Valley for schooling under the umbrella of the Simi Valley Unified School District. The schools in this district that serve Oak Park are Red Oak Elementary, Oak Hills Elementary, Brookside Elementary, Medea Creek Middle School, and Oak Park High School. With such a small district, there are always annual and numerous awards being granted to the schools here, which is the driving force behind the demand for the area.
