Get Out of the HEAT! Antique Shopping in Prescott is a GREAT option
Prescott is an ideal spot to escape from the excruciating heat that we experience in the Valley of the Sun. Along with the heat comes a different set of obstacles that typically do not let year-round Phoenicians leave the comforts of their air-conditioned homes. For example, most of us who live in the Metro Phoenix area enjoy the active outdoor lifestyle - hiking, antiquing, bicycling, walking, shopping, exercising - especially, compared to a stuffy gym atmosphere - and, we are able to do so 3/4th's of each year. One of the great things that we love to do in the Metro Phoenix area is to antique shop - however, the summertime temperatures here get up to 100+ degrees. A little to warm to be poking around looking for antiques for me!
There is, however, a great place to go for incredible antique shopping is the cool brisk breezeways of Prescott - the Summer temperatures are rarely comparable to anything Phoenix sees in the 80-ish% of the year. Summertime temperatures in Prescott are typically a cool and calm 85 - 89 degrees on the hottest day - making antiquing a day to look forward to. And don't be surprised to find yourself in the middle of a light afternoon rain shower which is so refreshing!
Moreover, Prescott is known for its antique shops - with many of them all within walking distance of one another. There are quite a few antique shops in Prescott - and, a few definitely worth the walk-through. The End of the Road Antique shop is quaint but with a lot of hometown charm and some wonderful finds. Antiques in the Alleyway is another shop that really focus' on the authenticity of the antique, as well as the importance of customer service. With a staff that has a vast background in a general knowledge of most things, they will help to make sure that your experience is just as authentic as a piece that you take home. The Second Hand Man is another shop that boasts the customer service and product quality is second to none. And if you get tired of antique shopping there is always some kind of festival going on in the town center park - which is close by all the shops. So....you can shop even more at the festival and find more treasures - all while staying cool!
