I Thought The Cat Was Gone Forever, But She Came Back.

Just when we thought the cat was gone forever, she shows up at the door tonight.

Our cat Lucy has been missing for three days. We weren’t too concerned after the first day she can handle herself pretty well but then she did not come back. After the second day of roaming the neighborhood searching for her, we started thinking the worst. Our home isn’t exactly in the forest but we do have animals that roam the foothills that do prey on cats. Snakes, coyote,  and automobiles are just the beginning of our concerns.

I was telling my wife about the flyers and announcements in the community web site that when out today while sitting on the couch tonight. Just then Lucy walked up to the door and peaked in. Yippeee!

If she could talk, I’m sure it would be quite a tale; I just happy to have her back again.

So glad she is back.  My daughter's cat disappeared for several weeks and then one day just showed up meowing on the doorstep.  Filthy and riddled with fleas but walked right back in like he had never been lost.

I had the same experience some years ago.  We had a cat, Mr. Softie, who was a sweet family pet, always around to enjoy.  Then one day he was gone.  Gone for about 4-5 days.

One afternoon while I was standing on the front porch, I saw him literally streaking down the street, across the yard and he must have jumped about 10 feet into my arms.  He was home.  I never knew the details but he surely appeared to have escaped from somewhere.

He was a dirty disheveled mess but he was home and clearly glad to be there.

So glad Lucy is back.  Times like this, I really wish they could talk and share and tell us what happened.  Oh, and I can relate.  I had something similar happen with one of my cats.

Tom, if she isn't spayed she may be bringing you home more an you think! It's always a relief when a loved pet returns. I would give her a stern lecture on her wayward ways.;-)

Our pets often give us our best and worst moments. . .The worst being when they unexpectedly disappear, and it becomes a mystery as to where they might be.  I'm glad Lucy has returned safely home!  Now, if she could only talk I bet she'd have a tale to tell:-)

Good morning Tom. I am so glad that your Lucy is back. My view, as you know, is that cats shouldn't be allowed to roam, but I am happy for your good fortune.

Thank goodness. We used to have a dog that would disappear for a week or two at a time about once a year like he was on vacation, When he came home is smelled terrible like he had been rolling in whatever it was he was doing.
