How Much Do I Love ActiveRain...600,000 Points
2 years ago I started blogging on ActiveRain. I made a commitment to myself to blog daily and make at least 10 comments a day. Except for some unforeseen reasons, I have followed through with my agenda. Today I passed my 600,000 Points and on May 20th, I was appointed an ActiveRain Ambassador. How could life get any better? Let me summarize below why I love ActiveRain.

Blogging- I love to blog daily. It is my time to present news about real estate, market reports, localism posts my community or just nature photos I have taken as I take pictures wherever I go. I try to post 10 times a week. I can write about real estate, technology news, my pets, my trips, or nature so when people say they don't know what to write about.....write about anything that interests you.
Posting Comments- Do unto others...so if you want to make friends and have others read your posts, then you must make comments too. I get so much enjoyment and education from reading other posts and making comments. I normally just make "positive" comments unless the author is asking for opinions. Then I will gladly voice mine in a professional way of course!
Points- I hear from others that points don't matter but I am very competative so they matter to me and it keeps me on target to move up every 100K. I agree it is not the most important thing about AR but it is something I strive for.
Contests- I adore entering all the contests. They are challenging and you must follow the directions too which makes me accountable and more careful. There are usually 3-4 monthly and I try to do them all. Besides learning new things we get extra points. Whoo Hoo!
Making Friends- Also making friendships is so important and it is like getting a card in the mail but instead they send you a comment on your post. The members you get to know are not only Realtors & Brokers, but also other professionals like Lenders, Stagers, Web Designers, Computer Experts, Home Inspectors, Flooring Experts, Contractors, Title Reps, and the list goes on and on.
Traveling by Websites- Where else can you read about current events from other professionals all over the US and Canada. Up to the minute news and pictures so if you cannot get away to go on trips, read about far away places and put them on your bucket list of places to travel to in the future.
Referrals- This is a big plus as I have had 3 referrals so far and a couple pending. Realtors from other areas do not know who to call but they can trust another AR member to give their client great service and get a referral fee which is nice bonus.
Inviting Others- Invite new Realtors and other real estate professionals. Let them experience the joy you have found on AR.
Education- I have learned so much from the ActiveRain Community. I knew very little about the computer, making videos and the iPad but in the past two years my knowledge has expanded tenfold. I even know how to make market reports with colorful charts now. Webinars from ActiveRain are always great training on a variety of subjects and helpful to get good SEO or what I like to call it...."Good Google Juice". Also there is a full library of videos to help with any question or dilemma you might have.
Daily Commitment- I try to stay on track to write 10 posts a week and at least 10 comments a day but I strive for 15-20 if I can find time. I will write drafts and save them so when I am on vacation, I can post daily.
Featured Articles- I had one featured article in the very beginning and not any more for a long time but I have learned to use fonts, colors, subject matter, and make my posts more interesting and appealing to others. I have had very few featured articles so I can say it is not something I strive for but always a nice surprise and makes my day brighter when it happens.
Meet Ups- I have been to two and they are so much fun. Getting together in person to meet members nearby and just have a good time and network.
Having Fun- This is what it is all about to me. Doing something you enjoy and ActiveRain is all that for me. Posting pictures, learning new ideas, meeting new members, congratulating someone on their successes or helping someone out with a problem by giving someone a little moral support. We have a great community and I am so proud to be a part of it.
