If you are planning on visiting the Philadelphia are in 2008, here are some things to do in Bucks County.

1. Visit Tyler State Park. It occupies 1711 acres in Newtown and Northampton Townships and offers canoeing,boating,picnicking,and hiking. Great place for a picnic.

2.Visit Washington Crossing Park and learn about George Washington.

3.Visit Mercer Museum and Fonthill museums.   www.mercermuseum.org.

4.Play at Kids Castle in Doylestown.

5.Shop at Outlets in Franklin  Mills Mall.

6.Go to Philadelphia Park Race Course and Casino in Bensalem. 215-639-9000

7.Tee off at one of the Public Golf Courses. See me blog :

8.Shop for antiques in New Hope.

9. Go to Rice's Flea Market ( Tuesdays and Saturdays) at 6326 Gree Hill Rd, New Hope, It is a 30 acre outdoor market where you can find antiques and collectibles, baked goods and produce, clothing and toys, new and old items.

10.Go to one of the public libraries.  www.buckslib.org.

11.Have delicious icecream at Tanner Brothers Farm in Richboro.

12.Shop and dine at Peddlers Village, New Hope  the #1 tourist destination in Bucks County. It  is a village complex of 70 unique specialty shops. Take the New Hope Ivyland railroad and travel through rolling hills and valleys of Bucks County aboard a locomotive.Relive a piece of history.

13.Walk in Doylestown Boro and have coffee at a sidewalk cafe.

14.Hike at the walking trails in one of the park in Warminster or Warwick.

15.Attend free concerts in rhe park in the summer on Sundays. Warwick township is one of many townships that offer these concerts.

16.Go bowling at Thunder Bird  lanes in Warminster.

17.Go skating at the skating rink in Warminster.

18. Play  miniature golf at Somerton Springs in Feasterville 215-355-1776.It is 1 18 hole ,par 3 course.

19.Fly a kite at Core Creek park 1200 acres in Middletown township.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, though we always went to Goodnoe's for ice cream and not Tanners.  I grew up in Philadelphia and spent five years or more in Newtown Borough with my girls when they were little.  I worked for Coldwell Banker Hearthside when they were in they opened in the Goodnoe's shopping center before they moved to State Street.
