Change is constant. Are you prepared?

Mellissa's Baby I first met Melissa back in early December.  She was VERY pregnant and looked like she was about to pop even though the baby wasn't due for another month.

Now, six months later, I find myself amazed that her incredibly cute baby is already cutting teeth.

Where did the time go?

A lot of bad, sad things have happened in the last few months.  At the same time, life has continued on.  I think that is fair to say that change is constant.

We have to count our blessings no matter what is happening.

In the real estate world, good news is becoming pervasive.    News stories about "seller's markets" and "multiple offers" are replacing articles about short sales and foreclosures.

Change is constant.

As a real estate professional, are simply reacting to the changes or are you proactively positioning yourself for the "new" market?

Sondra

Hi Sondra. You're back!

I smiled with your terminology with your friend Melissa "about to pop". Ha Ha, I thought only we guys talked like that. I had a similar discussion the other day about change, mainly seeing the good days and bad days with weather, calm sunny days and others with hailstones and threats of tornadoes and even REAL tornadoes. They were amazed how I had this calm about it all, and it really came down to Sondra me explaining serenity and focusing on what you could control and what you could not, the temporary nature of the good and the bad, and also "you could get through it." The time flies with your example of the baby always stuns me too. You are getting deep on me Sondra with your writing LOL, but it is all good!!

Sondra, I have been missing you too. Life happens, we have to deal with it but we also have to adapt and go forward.

Babies are a reminder of the cycle of life.  My middle daughter is pregnant.  So there will be a new grandchild.

Don't spend all the money in the good times and have multiple lead generation methods including an actice refferal system. Then enjoy life!

Sondra, change is the only constant.  I find it amazing as to how many people are behind the curve, whether they be buyers or sellers.  Today, things happen so quickly.

For sure change is constant. I have doubled my marketing to home owners. Am instigating a referral action plan in my Top Producer so I can start touching the 3500 agents in my database. Used to work Remax conventions in years past. Foremost I am heading toward more social media interaction. Have to change or retire.

I feel that I must always think ahead to what the market maybe doing & be ready to anticipate it. I foresaw 1987 & 2005 just by paying attention to the lies you hear from politicians & their cronies the economist.  We have to also deal with technical change & the next 5 years will be different from today.

Sondra, Life marches on and changes are inevitable. There are many wonderful things that happen daily and will happen. The sun always rises every morning and anticipating the day with a plan is a great business strategy. But, seeing the world and all it's glory requires us to slow down and smell the flowers if you will. Congrats on the feature!

Sondra,

It's interesting to me how one event can make you think of the bigger picture.  In this case I learned that time flies and change is bound to happen whether we are ready for it or not.

Best,
