I’ve heard it a million times. “You are real estate agents, and you sell houses.” That is a very easy statement for someone to make when they are outside of the real estate industry.

Is that true? Do we sell houses? Yes, our ultimate objective is to match someone up to the house of their dreams but in the traditional sense are we really selling them a house?

As a buyer looking for a home, I already know what I want. I want a 4-bedroom home with a den and a two-car garage. As a real estate professional it is your job to show me where such a place exists. As a listing agent my job is to expose that home to as many people as possible. Therefore, our product is the services in which we offer. They are the HOW we will get the job done.

Let’s face it, if the product were just a house, it wouldn’t be enough. That’s why most of us are with companies that offer mortgage, insurance, moving services and beyond.
