We get to see all kinds of new plumbing jobs. Those that are good and those that are not so good.
It boggles the mind what some plumbers are thinking or the lack of thinking when re plumbing a home.
I was at a home inspection for a first time home buyer yesterday when I did get into the crawl space.
I was shocked when I got to see the interesting work of the plumber, who re plumbed the home in 2011 according to the disclosure statement.
Was this plumber just trying to get rid of materials during the re plumbing process?
It would seem that way to me.
Take a look at what I saw when in the crawl space for the first time since the new plumbing had been installed.
The plumber ran one main line. Then he "Tee'd off" the line to each and every connection to the home.
And I do mean to each and every plumbing fitting that required hot or cold water.
What in the world was this installer thinking. There is a total of no less than 17 lines to the homes needs.
Instead of running a main line to the fixtures and then "teeing off" The plumber ran one line in the middle of the home, then ran secondary lines to everything else.
Even though this works. This is far from "BEST PRACTICES".
Simply amazing what this plumber was thinking.
