Rocky Start

It's hard to believe that one of the iconic places in Pacific Beach San Diego had a rough beginning. Construction of Crystal Pier began during the early 1920's however, it encountered several starts and stops before it was finished at the later part of the decade.

Unique Hotel Experience

A few years after the pier was constructed, cottages were also built - starting the Crystal Pier hotels. A lot of guests were attracted to spend a night on of the cottages becuase they got the chance to sleep over the ocean (literally).

Original Name

Before being known as Crystal Pier, the iconic PB tourist destination was known as Pickering's Pleasure Pier. In my opinion, I'm glad they changed the name!
