Another Charmer in Sperryville,VA

Oh, what we have to do in the line of duty.  Imagine having to spend perfectly good time running (driving) around the countryside taking pictures.  Woe is me!  But then I chose to be a REALTOR® and we have to do what we have to do.

This is a good time of the year to go out "shooting" as it is so much easier to see things that might not be as visible when the trees and shrubs are in full bloom.

By sharing photos of our surroundings folks a better idea of whether they might want to explore our part of the world as a place to live.

This is another Sperryville charmer.  It is right in the center of town next to the red barn that was in my prior blog.  I think I am fascinated by old buildings of all kinds.

 Colorful Truck

When taking people out for the first time I always ask if they are familiar with Lake Anna in particular and also Central Virginia.  The most important thing they need to decide is if this is the place they want to be.  They are, for the most part, making a very independent decision based solely on their preference.  That is why the more they can see and understand the nature of this area the better they are able to know whether it suits them.  We want happy residents and I certainly want happy buyers.

This Jeep truck was included just because I like the color and the fact that you are probably not going to see one in Washington, D.C or Manhatten.  It looks country.

Love this farm outside of Sperryville.  Can you imagine in the spring or fall.  Must be beautiful.  I'll have to go back then.

Nice pictures!

I love the farm too!  I'm a big horse enthusiast and could definitely do something there to that farm!

Best wishes!

Sarah...Virginia is the place for you.  It is really becoming horse country down here.  The horse population is growing pretty fast.  If they only bought real estate!

Thanks for coming by.

Marti...It was fun.  What's 235 pictures when you're having fun!

Thanks for yur commet on the bottom photo.  I liked the look even though the trees and shrubs are pretty barren.  For me, that gave it a special effect.

Thank you.

Kathleen~I love the country atmosphere and you are just full of it in VA. That green jeep truck reminds me of the truck on the Waltons for some reason. Nice pictures my friend.

Mark...Thanks.  That is exactly what I thought.  It reminds me of places that were very familiar to me when I was much younger.

Glad you enjoyed.

Julie...I enjoyed myself so much while taking these pictures that I just wanted to share.  I was hoping there would be Rainers like you that would be pleased to see them.  Seeing pictures of places that remind us more of the past seems to strike a cord with many of us.

I just couldn't resist that truck.  Liked the old fashioned look and the color.

Take care,

Kathleen

I love the contrast of the green truck with the red barn and the blue sky. It reminds me of an industrial sunset with the irony being the obvious country elements. Very nice photos! The house hiding behind the stark trees in the second photo speaks of a "gentleman farmer". It is refreshing that the opulence is the background and not the theme of the photo. What a beautiful area you live in.

Rich...I have a close up of the house.  It is quite nice.  I'm glad you like the picture just the way it is.  I thought about cropping it but when I did it changed the look for me.  I left it just as I took it.

I also like the colors playing against one another in the second photo.  Thanks for commenting.

I'm having fun.

Kathleen- What a wonderful time...going around taking pictures of old buildings, and farms.  I love doing that sort of thing, and yes the pictures are so different once the trees are in bloom.  and as Marti said that bottom picture is great :)

Kathleen,  Wow what wonderful shots!  You are truly painting a picture of what your countryside looks like and it is beautiful.  My daughter says, " Silly boys, this truck is for girls!"  She is 19 and all country!

Are you covered in snow now?  Wonder how it looks now or is it just grey?

Kathleen - You have BEAUTIFUL pictures!  I am like you in the philosphy of pictures.....my camera is ALWAYS with me and I post as much as I can to Localism.  I just can't think of a better way to let out-of-towners get a feel for the area.  Thanks for sharing the pics!

Kathy...I'll be back out there as soon as the season changes.  I'm sure it will look beautiful when the trees just start to bud.  I love it when everything turns that soft, new green of spring.  Than more photos of these same places in the summer and again for the fall colors.

Karen...Yesterday I drove up to Connecticut.  It started snowing five minutes after I arrived at my mom's house but at some point during the night it turned to rain and it is very gray up here.

If, when I'm at home again, we get a good snow I'm going to head up 522 and take pictures of some of these places again...especially that farm.

That truck has your daughter's name all over it.  Want me to see if I can find it and talk the owner into giving it up???

Cheers,

Kathleen

Leesa...you have certainly tempted me to look at your posts (I promise to read some too).  I'm glad you enjoyed my pictures.

There is no doubt that pictures help when we try to describe our market area.  And the pictures are fun to take too!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you come again.  I promise more pictures.

Heather...That's right.  We are fortunate to be in a profession that encompasses so many different things including driving around the countryside taking pictures.
