How to know if you are burned out as a realtor.

How to know if you are burned out as a realtor.

Getting burned out is easy in real estate, but sometimes you don’t know it until it sneaks up on you.  Take a vacation immediately if you find yourself involved in any of the following:

You know you're burned out when...You know you’re burned out when…….you are driving around your buyers to look at homes and they take too long to look at a particular house, you drive off and leave them there.  This could be a sign that you are burned out.

You know you’re burned out when…….you are writing up an offer for a buyer and you write in for the close date, “whatever” or “who knows” or “this lender can’t close on time, add another two weeks to ‘whatever.’”  This could be a sign that you are burned out.

You know you're burned out when...You know you’re burned out when…….you cash your buyer’s earnest money check and buy a new purse.  This could be a sign that you are burned out.

You know you’re burned out when…….you only show buyers three homes to choose from, and tell them because that’s how they do it on HGTV.  This could be a sign that you are burned out.

You know you're burned out when...You know you’re burned out when…….you go to your client’s closing appointment wearing angel wings and a halo and declaring in a booming voice that this closing is a miracle.  This could be a sign that you are burned out.

You know you’re burned out when…….you go to your company’s summer picnic and trip your office’s top agent (who your managing broker worships) during the sack race so you can win the $5 Starbuck card prize.  This could be a sign that you are burned out.

You know you’re burned out when…….your buyers and sellers think the tax assessed value is the market value, and you agree with them.  It’s just too much effort to explain it.   This could be a sign that you are burned out.

If you or your colleagues show any of these signs, book a vacation immediately!  That can solve many burnout issues and turn you back into the patient, wonderful agent that you are!

Very funny post. I do like the 3 choices approach. They don't want to be more foolish than the experts on HGTV

This post is Hilarious!  The funniest is "too much trouble to explain the value being the same as the tax assessment"  LOL

You had laughing out loud all by myself here. I can't figure out which one I like the best. There're all that funny! I might have to lean in with Silver Bee though.

I'm tempted to try the angel wings at the closing idea.  Thanks for the suggestion.  That IS the purpose of this post, right?

This post was too, too funny and started my day with a laugh. Thanks! But on a serious note, burn-out is something we all need to watch out for to stay on top of our game. And unfortunately, we often don't know the "real" signs until too late.

LOL  I have never been quite that bad.  What really frays my edges is doing short sales with stubborn/insane  banks so it is pretty hard to get back at them.  But there are days where I just want to reach through the phone and strangle people.  Does that count?  LOL
