The development of Castle Glen is located on the east end of Big Bear Lake (see map here ). It offers spectacular views of Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Ski Resorts, as well as panoramic views of Big Bear Lake. If you are looking for new construction and a view this is the place to be.
Arguably the fastest growing area in Big Bear, Castle Glen was developed into three phases totaling 245 vacant lots. Phase 1 consisted of 46 lots off of Division Drive. These lots (found on Timberline Trail, Fawn Trail Place, and Sunrise Way) were developed in 1999 and offered for sale by my broker, Tim Wood. As a matter of fact, Coldwell Banker Mountain Gallery Realtors represented the developer in all three phases of construction. Phase two opened up in 2002 and had 42 vacant lots. It is an extension of phase 1 running through Glenwood Drive and a small portion of Starlight Circle. And last but not least, phase 3 came out in the Summer of 2003 and sold out in record pace. The remaining 157 lots can be found on the following streets: Castle Crag, Golden Oak, Eagle Lake, Windsong, Morningstar, Fallen Leaf, Pegasus, Orion, Springhill and Starlight Circle.Home price ranges in this area start at $625,000 and can go up as high as $2,400,000 depending on the size of the home, quality of construction, and view. For a comprehensive list of homes sold in this area in 2007 go to The Big Bear Skinny blog.
