Trust your Tools!

Every body has a different set of tools and must have common knowledge of how to use them.  If you're about to start a framing project you wouldn't use a trim hammer.  You want to use the right tool for the job.

Home owners often get into projects only to find out they lack the tools needed to finish the job.  My father in law is having a house built and for two Saturdays him and another guy has tried to finish the plumbing only to figure out that they don't have the tool they need or the piece of pipe to finish it up.

Did you know that as a home inspector we give each person that has gotten a home inspection done by us a separate maintenance summary so they can use it as a tool to see what needs to be done and what has to be done.  This tool can ultimately save the new home owner a lot of money because they don't overlook things such as caulking around the windows and door jams to keep water from penetrating the walls.

As a new customer who signs up on line we also give the homeowner a small new tool kit to help with those jobs.

You guys are getting so good.  And as always I have a suggestion, lol.  Link the pic of your toolkit back to your website and have it open in a separate window.  Gets them directly online with you.

This is a GREAT idea.  Every homeowner could use this.   The maintenance summary is also very helpful.  Many homeowners don't really even know what "basic" maintenance is!

Ginger,

Thanks for stopping by, yes most of the home owners that we give this away to love it.  The maintence summary was also a homeowners and an agents idea.  So far it has been a hit.  We take lots of pictures so the homeowner knows exactly what we're talking about and WHERE to fine the problem.
