Why did you become a Real Estate Agent?  We all have a story to tell!

I have a degree in Business but I minored in Health care Administration, My first job out of college I worked for the Center for Child Protection. It was the most depressing job in the world. I worked with troubled pregnant teens and teen moms. After coming home depressed to many times I took a job with a temp agency and they placed me as a loan processor for Temple Inland Mortgage in CA. After a yr I had a child and decided to get my Real Estate licence so I can go and come as I want, make my own hours. I did and eleven years later I never looked back. I am one of the few people in my family and amongst my friends that really enjoys my job.

I shared my story now please share yours!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello What a Great Question. I became a real estate agent because I have worked with so many realtors in my business of CT Web Site Design which I have been doing for the past 12 years. Now it was time for a bit of a change. I always new I would do this someday. The opportunity came to for me and I took it.

I always thought that I would hand my business down to my daughter someday and I would be a realtor.
It is a great retirement income and alot of fun.

Also in the area where I now is growning by leaps and bounds and I wanted my piece of the pie.. I am having fun learning alot and meeting and talking to so many people.
Well it is some elses turn now to tell thier story, Can't wait to read them...

DeeDee - it's simple really.  I have always worked in professions that help people.  99% of that time the people I dealt with were either unsavory/agitated/armed or injured.  I wanted something that would allow me to deal with people that were alive, interested, cooperative (mostly), and coherent.  Toss in the scheduling flexibility - and VOILA! - you have real estate.

I became a real estate agent because I had a terrible experience buying a home. I told my husband at the time that if you would only return people's phone calls and do what you said you were going to do, you could be successful in the real estate industry. He laughed at me. I was working in the corporate world at the time and several years later had a chance to take a juicy severance package and try something new. That was nine years ago and I've been successfully selling real estate ever since then.

I chose to be in Real Estate because I love helping people and I never get tired of looking at homes.  Going into my fifth year and the business just keeps getting better.  I love it, even though I just spent the last hour writing an offer for an out of town buyer and it is almost 10PM...got to do what you got to do!

I spent months analyzing my personality, strengths and weaknesses.  I discovered that I really enjoyed talking to people. leaving the house, talking to people, dressing nice, talking to people, and going out to lunch.  I narrowed my career choices down to Realtor, or socialite.  Of course, I didn't have the money to be a socialite... so here I am!  I don't know anyone else who loves their job as much as I do.  My friends love to pick on me when I'm happy about cancelling social plans in favor of going to work.
