Stone Harbor real estate is among New Jersey's finest. Whether drawn to Stone Harbor by mouthwatering seafood, the beautiful neighborhoods, a stellar school system, or the simple lull of waves, this seven-mile island has much to offer. A perfect place for families to live, be sure to consider the housing options available in this gorgeous coastal city.

Just two and a half hours from Manhattan and an hour and a half from Philadelphia, Stone Harbor’s ideal location allows residents access to some of the most prominent cities on the East Coast, yet provides a safe haven away from the urban buzz. Situated on the beautiful Jersey Shore, Stone Harbor boasts beautiful ocean views and access to the cleanest beaches in the area. Residents and tourists alike enjoy the boating opportunities here, including fishing on specialty registered boats, party boats for special occasions, and “excursion adventure boats.” For those who would prefer to keep their feet on land, the cute shops and beautiful beaches and parks are a cheaper way to enjoy the island.

But Stone Harbor is far more than just a pretty view. The people in Stone Harbor understand the importance of community and helping their neighbors. Perhaps this is why Stone Harbor has some of the best teachers in the nation, known for their friendliness and dedication to engaging their students. The Stone Harbor School District has very small class sizes, with a student to teacher ratio of just over five to one. This allows faculty to spend that extra time with the students and improve their educational experiences. Classroom instruction and extra curricular activities in Stone Harbor rank in the eightieth percentile when compared to the K-8 national average.

But the activities in Stone Harbor don’t stop when school gets out. All summer long, the Stone Harbor Recreation Department offers activities for both boys and girls, including baseball, tee-ball, soccer, lacrosse, fishing, tennis, and arts and crafts. And kids aren’t the only ones having fun. Stone Harbor adults have access to fitness boot camp, surf lessons, yoga, Zumba, tennis, lacrosse, and more. There’s fun for the family as well. Every July and August, family movies are played outside of Stone Harbor Elementary School once a week. The recreation department does a great job of offering entertainment for the whole family. And every year, Stone Harbor hosts The Wings n’ Water Festival, a New Jersey favorite. There’s everything from folk music to local artists to arts and crafts vendors to savory food to little trinkets to buy as souvenirs.

If you would like to take a walk on the wild side, Stone Harbor is very close to the Cape May County Park and Zoo. Right inside Stone Harbor, there is also the Stone Harbor Bird Sanctuary. This center has hundreds of species of birds and is a breathtaking experience for both children and adults. The island also has The Wetlands Institute and Museum, where you can see birds, different sea creatures inside the aquarium, and an area reserved just for turtles.

And don’t forget about the food! There’s nothing like some fresh Atlantic seafood. For mouthwatering options, check out Quahog’s Seafood Shack for some Cape May salt oysters, local clams on the half shell, steamed lobster, or tuna watermelon ceviche. Jay’s on Third offers tasty food in a swanky atmosphere with a mix of appetizers, seafood, meat, and scrumptious desserts. If you’re not in the mood for seafood, there are still plenty of options to satisfy your hunger. Mack’s Pizza of Stone Harbor offers delicious pizza specials such as “The Boardwalk”, “The Ocean City”, and “The Crest.”

All in all, Stone Harbor is a great place to live. With a beautiful location, close proximity to major cities, excellent school system, and large array of food and entertainment options, buying a home here is a great option!
