Making Memories of Us...A Love Story
(Although we were married in 1990, this song is one of mine and my husbands favorites for today. All 3 songs have such a profound meaning in my life with my husband and my 3 children)
A vision of comfort and love, a tall handsome soul reaches his hand out to me to say “may I have this dance”? My heart beats with the repetition of the music playing and all I can think is, 'what is happening?' As I float into an everlasting cloud of twitterpating love, my mind becomes cloudy and the music starts to softly play a song that will forever settle in my mind.
Months later I would find myself in the arms of this gentle spirit that I have so deeply fallen in love with. He would not only become the love of my life, the one I would long for on a cold wintry day, to keep me warm and protected by the storm, but he would become my best friend, the one whom I would share all of lives sweet tender moments and bitter tasting giants.
Riding by his side over a rocky covered road, with a full moon overhead, reflecting on the cold November water, he, my love, the sweetest taste of honey, leans over to gently kiss me. His spoken words will forever be engraved in my soul and find me seeking that quiet moment to revisit as we are Making Memories of Us. No longer was the air cold outside because the warmth of his words would fill the air with a surge of heat to raise the temperature to a comfort level uncommon to the crisp winter chill. A treasured memory of his hands gently surrounding mine and the perfection of his emerald green eyes staring into my soul, he said “Julie I love you and want to share my life with you, will you marry me”?
An everlasting stream of tears dropped from my cheeks, a smile crossed my face and with simplicity the words of
"yes I will marry you, I love you and want to be with you forever” traveled for miles through the canyons cove.
The music filled the room of a song playing softly on a strummed guitar and an angelic voice singing the words to The Wedding Song. Nothing else in the world mattered at that moment because God was there, holding out His hands to join the two of us together as we looked into each other’s eyes and shared the words “I do”.
As we traveled the pebbled path laid out for us, finding many jewels along the way, we found ourselves sitting in a room filled with instruments, white jacket covered individuals and a large tummy ready to share two tiny spirits with the world. One by one these precious little baby boys were laid in my arms to forever nurture, love and guide through life’s travels of leaping frogs, scruffy dogs and bear hugs galore.
Our journeyed path would lead us to many changes of growth, but never lacking love and joy. With the sparkle of a thousand diamonds we would find traces of angel dust throughout our travels. It was by no coincidence that a precious little angel was working her way into our family for she so eagerly wanted to fill our lives with sweet sugar kisses and the constant reminder that we must “yield to the princess”.
We continue to run and run, the five of us together, through a spectacular field of wildflowers, laughing, dancing, holding onto to one another’s hands, wiping away the occasional tears and always longing for more tomorrows to be filled with “family hugs”, tender talks and the soft whisper of "I Love YOU".
Everyday that I wake up I thank God many times over for this beautiful family that I have and how truly Blessed I am for their existence because I love them so very much. Nothing in this life feels better to me than to have my children look into my eyes and say "momma I Love YOU" and to have my sweet hubby who so admirably loves our children unconditionally and fulfills every true meaning of fatherhood and being the charming, loving person that he is, my husband is my best friend, my love.
Happy Valentine's Day to my family and Happy Valentine's Day to all of you, my friends!
