Attention all walking and bicycling enthusiasts! You are invited to take part in a public hearing aimed at improving safety for you!  The findings from a feasibility study will be showcased at the meeting.

It’s taking place June 13th in the Parish Council chambers at 21490 Koop Drive off of Louisiana 59 north of Mandeville. The public hearing starts at six.

The key area that was looked at in the study was along Louisiana 21 between Madisonville and Covington. Parish government officials want your input on what they found! They say they’d like to hear from local citizens specifically about the strategies, corridors and projects pinpointed in the study. Some things to consider before the meeting that may be discussed include volume of traffic, access, and walking and bicycling for recreation and work.

The public hearing is being put on by St. Tammany Parish government and the Regional Planning Commission as well as Meyer Engineers and Dana Brown & Associates.

Can’t go but still want your voice to be heard? We’ve got you covered! You can send comments in writing to St. Tammany Parish Government Grants Department, P.O. Box 628, Covington, La., 70434.

You can also submit comments via fax at (504) 887-5056. Attn: LA 21 Bicycle and Pedestrian Feasibility Study.
