Hutson Companies Appoints Real Estate Development Expert Jim Davidson to Market its Extensive Real Estate Holdings

Davidson Realty was recently selected as Agency of Record for several major land holdings owned by the Hutson Companies, LLC.  As part of the appointment, Jim Davidson will also serve as Hutson’s Vice President with an emphasis on sales and marketing.

Specifically, Hutson will receive real estate consulting and brokerage services from Davidson, which has established exclusive brokerage agreements with several of the Hutson Companies’ affiliates. The goal is to market and sell the remaining Hutson holdings in OakLeaf Plantation, SilverLeaf Plantation, and the 8,557-acre Hutson Ranch. Davidson Realty has also been named as exclusive broker for the sale of St. Johns County timber and farmlands.

Says Jim Davidson, “We are proud to work with Hutson Companies, one of the most successful and respected real estate development firms in the Southeast.”

In his new role, Davidson will partner with General Counsel and fellow VP John Metcalf.  The team will work to position and enhance the value of Hutson’s extensive land holdings by developing and executing a long-term strategy for the company’s nearly 20,000 acres of real estate.

This isn’t the first time Davidson and Metcalf have collaborated together.  The duo has successfully partnered on large diversified communities since 1981.  Davidson also directed Arvida’s Sawgrass projects in the early 1980s, and was the original master developer of World Golf Village

Said CEO David Hutson, “We’ve built a large portfolio of land in prime locations.  We want to make sure we get the most value out of that land, and we also want the land to be used in a way that will make us proud.  John Metcalf and Jim Davidson are highly respected, experienced professionals with proven real estate business success, and I trust them to take the lead as we move forward and continue to build value for our real estate related assets.”

One of the largest landowners in Northeast Florida, the Hutson Companies developed OakLeaf Plantation in western Duval and Clay counties, and is the owner of SilverLeaf Plantation, a 7,500-acre development in St. Johns County.  The SilverLeaf property is approved for the development of 10,700 residential units and 1.8 million square feet of commercial retail, office and industrial space.  Major transportation improvements are also planned for SilverLeaf, including the outer beltway/I-95 interchange and a 7.5 mile portion of future County Road 2209 connecting County Road 210 and International Golf Parkway.

For its work at OakLeaf Plantation, The Hutson Companies garnered numerous awards, including Developer of the Year by the Northeast Florida Builder’s Association. Recognition has also been received from both the state and local chapters of the Florida Planning & Zoning Commission for sound development practices.
