My wife and I have been making a point to visit arts and crafts shows this summer on every weekend possible. She visited two in Florida a few weeks ago, and I visited one in Chelsea, Michigan in May, and two weeks ago another in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Last weekend she and I took the drive over to New Buffalo to see a juried art show over there as well.
My wife is a painter and sculpture artist who is returning to her craft after years away from it. We are exploring art shows to not only orient ourselves to the better quality shows, but also to familiarize ourselves with what other artists are doing. I am using it as additional study for a new book I will be writing in the near future. I released two eBook earlier this year on Arts and Crafts Shows which have been selling quite well on Amazon, so I am inspired to release more material to help vendor artists in new books.
I have included cover images of my ebooks available on Amazon here, but also some photos of the shows we have attended. I love attending art shows. I would have to say that they perhaps one of my most favorite diversions in the summer time. The only thing better to me is to work one of these shows, which I have done on numberous occasions, hence the subject of the material for my books.
We have plans to go to South Haven this weekend to see an arts and crafts show on the pier there. The following weekend my wife will be returning to Florida for some training she needs to take there, but I will be returning to Kalamazoo for another art show held there to explore. If you are looking for a useful website to find arts and crafts shows in your area, try: www.festivalnet.com This one really offers a good selection for the USA and Canada.
My wife and I plan to participate in shows next summer selling her art creations from her studio, so this summer is our time to do research and learn. I hope you enjoy the photos. This collection were taken at the Chelsea, Kalamazoo and New Buffalo Art Shows in the last month.
