BALANCING ACT

Are we real estate agents or jugglers?  I have four children ages 6 to 14.  I began my real estate career eight years ago.  I got pregnant with my third child the same week I got licensed!  I have been juggling the two jobs ever since!  I do my best to be a "full time" mom and a "full time" Realtor.  I work from 8-2:30 and than 5-7 (when I need to work in the evening) and on weekends around their games and events (as much as possible).  It is much easier now that they are all in school.  When they were little we lived close to my mom, mother in law and sister in law, who helped me when I had to run out and meet a buyer, now my high schooler babysits.  You will usually see me flying around, because I don't waste a minute of my day, there is too much to do, to sit idle! I am so blessed to be able to earn a nice living and be there for my kiddos as well!

Jess - It IS a juggling act isn't it!

I love how this job allows flexibility so that we can take care of our kids.  It IS a balancing act, but what isn't?

Hi Jess.  Thank you for adding me as an associate.  Had to come check out your blog and we have some things in common!  I'm the mother of 4 children, ages 5-13!  Yes, I do feel very busy, but like you, still love what I do!

Hi Jess - One of the things I've really come to love about Active Rain is that I've come across people who are in similar situations as I am or who have "been there, done that."  In this case, you've been there.  I am a mother of 4, ages 1-12, with twins on the way.  Working at home has provided me the perfect opportunity to earn a living and be available for my children.  It's really hard sometimes with the two youngest ones not in school yet but I seem to manage.  Juggling is so difficult sometimes but it is exactly what we have to do.  As a Virtual Assistant, I don't have to leave at a moment's notice to meet clients but I often have to work in the evenings and after the kids have all gone to bed to get things done that I didn't accomplish during the normal work day.  It isn't easy but it sure is worth it!
