It’s easy to be proud of a community when its key establishments are frequently on the receiving end of state and national accolades. In the news last week is a report that one of the Smith Mountain Lake area’s preschools received a star rating by the Virginia Star Quality Initiative (VSQI). The Laker Weekly reports that the Virginia Star Quality Initiative, a program of the Virginia Early Childhood Development and Early Childhood Foundation that recognizes four areas of educational quality, granted the top rating to Trinity Preschool in Moneta.
Trinity Preschool is being recognized for great education, qualified and well trained staff, excellence in teacher and student interaction and environment and instruction. Along with the rating, the VSQI program supports educational excellence by providing mentorship to its winning schools. Smith Mountain Lake prides itself on excellence in education - from the earliest years to high school graduation.
