PICTURE IMPERFECT

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Midamerica Referral Network

Do you have to wonder why this house didn't sell last year?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, I think this listing photo tells the seller that his agent was either inexperienced or didn't care enough to rotate it.

Hallmark's slogan: When you care enough to send the very best, might apply to doing our best to our clients by checking the pictures we offer the public.

If you're drinking, looks okay.  Got my attention! That was one late at night image insertion on realtor.com I bet! I love the ones with large ugly snowbacks in late winter with black gravel from a winter's worth of plowing by on a state highway that are still appearing in end of July.  Take another picture will ya?  Good post!

LOL Great reminder Joan, thank you. It make me wonder how some people stay in the business.

It still surprises me in this market, where homes are harder to sell, that listing agents don't take the time to do something as simple as making sure the pictures look good.

Yeah, that's not marketing you can point to with pride.  Is that person still in the business?

Is it really that hard to flip a picture?  Of course at least there was a picture.  I'm still astonished at the number of listings that don't have a single picture.

Joan, I am surprised the sellers did not pick up on this problem right away. A lot of sellers check the internet regularly for their listing.

When most buyers start their search on the internet, photos are critical and set the good agents apart from the not so good ones. Details are important.

The sellers really should check out the agents before they list - look at their marketing materials, their photography, their communications with clients. Don't accept less than the best.
