WARREN TOWNSHIP, NJ 07059

Located about 30 miles from New York, 40 miles from Trenton and 85 miles from Philadelphia, Warren Township sits at the crossroads for travelers between Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Originally Warren Township was inhabited by the Lenape Indians. European farmers settled the territory in the early 1700’s; and in 1806 Warren was carved from portions of Bernards Township and Bridgewater Township and incorporated. The town was named after General Joseph Warren who was a hero of the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolution. Major interstate highways have transformed Warren Township from a small farming community to a rural residential community of single-family homes situated on an acre or more. Warren contains mainly single-family homes, with a select number of townhouse and condominium properties.

Luxury homes at the upper-end of the market are usually custom-built residences on large parcels of land. The area’s strategic proximity to Interstates 78 and 287 make it an ideal place to live for those who work in any of the region’s major cities, but prefer country living. At the same time, business also choose Warren because of its access to major roads. It is close to major shopping centers and great restaurants. With close to 15,000 people, Warren and/or Somerset County purchased over 400 acres to preserve for public use. The purchases included the Wagner Farm on Mountain Avenue and the Meyers Farm on Old Stirling Road. A very large parcel of land which included a pond, was donated to Warren Township by Atlantic Development and is now used as a nature trail and the home of the town’s fishing derby.
