How to By-Pass Windows Login Password

It’s all happened to us from time-to-time.  We try to be slick and use a password that would be difficult for others to figure out.  Yet, at the same time, it is such as great password that we can’t remember it either!

This isn’t exactly the case for me but today I had to try to get around my Windows password at the start-up screen.

A computer that I had been using ceased functioning recently; the hard drive is fried.  Luckily, I routinely back up my system so the data loss will be very minimal.  However, now I have to set up another computer in the same manner as the one that just died.

I have several computers that I don’t use any more, including one that I haven’t used in a couple of years that had almost all of the same programs and settings as the one that died.

Then I ran into a problem: I couldn’t remember the password!  I racked my brain trying every possible combination that I might have used two or three years ago.  Nothing worked.

I tried to boot up in “Safe Mode” to log in as the Administrator and reset the password.  The Administrator had a password too!  UGH!

So, after searching online for a while, I ran across this video tutorial on how to “hack” a User’s password.  It worked like a charm!  The computer is now up and running and I am well on my way to having it set up like the one that I just lost.

The only possible drawback is that you need your installer disc so that you can boot the computer from the disc.

The video is crude but the information is valid and it works!
