Game of Homes: The Closing of a Short Sale

The Kingdom of Finance knew our suffing lord was in distress as we sent messenger to plea to ameliorate his woe.  We did as they bade us, as the Kingdom commanded with steely eyes and haunting voice.  We bowed, scraped, crawled away with our eyes down.  We followed the ancient protocols.  We paid tribute to the kingdom.  Surely our plea would be heard and acted upon...?

And we waited...

A negotiator was assigned to our cause.  Certainly NOW we could give good news to our client?  Not yet, we were told. The realm of Finance must muse on the matter for a fortnight and more.

And we waited...  Shockingly the negotiator decided it wasn't an interesting enough case.

We were DENIED.

Reexamining our case and resources, we made a new plan and stormed the Finance fortress with sharp clear documents and signatures, bowed again, made new pleas, sacrificed reams of paper to oracle of FAX.  Called upon mighty PSD to aid us in our plight.

A new negotiator was assigned to our case.  Was there a ray of hope shing through the clouds?

We waited...

The Lords send out their minions to taunt, snoop and harass us!  Had the castle been abandoned?  They  attempted to lock us out of our own castle repeatedly.  Our protagonist could never seem to have the right paperwork or correct answers for their inquisitions.  The Lords of Finance called for more ink, more files, more signatures...their lust for paperwork was insatiable.

And we waited...

Enduring & suffering as one, agents & client in unison, through fifteen months of callous 'negotiating' that seemed more like we were communicating via crows and snails.  Did the Lords of Finance not speak our tongue?  Were the oracles of FAX and PSD playing cruel games with our fate?

And we waited...

The plotline seemed to drag on and on and on. We used our best magic to battle with their demons, dragon women & haughty lords.  Pawns who were ready to serve took messages and checked the 'status' of a file seemingly buried in a mausoleum.  We read news of other battles across the landscape.  Some who had won, others who were sourly rendered and left to rot on their former estates.  We found an advocate in the royal court who gathered information for us, and for a moment there was promise of action...alas, NO.  Doors were secured against us.  Our file had been secreted away in hidden chambers.

Four seasons passed in Earth and sky and still no victory....the battle was escalated, and escalated again, and the lords were sent terms of surrender, but they returned no word of a settlement.  The homeless still wandered, not knowing when this ordeal would be over.

How many battles can you lose, and still win the war?

In a fit of rage we summoned the King (CEO) of all the finances himself by direct courier - a bold move.  What hadn't we already lost?  Let us be smitten or given audience.  We were blessed and the Earth moved at last.  By movement of the King's hand the records were pulled from beyond reckoning and waxy seal was affixed - "Approval to Participate".  Suddenly in a matter of days it was all over, nothing but a pile of paperwork and notes...

...yet the negotiators sat ever still...   ...UNMOVING.

It was a SAGA for the ages.

My partner went to our central lounge in the office and RANG THE BRASS BELL when we got confirmation it was recorded.

We had to find a way to leave a record of the epic struggle!  Anyone want to buy movie rights?

Rich there have too many of these ridiculous SAGA'S and I for one don't play that game anymore.  We have a processor and attorney that handles it extremely well and keeps us out of that crazy loop.
