The National Association of Realtors (NAR) reports existing home sales in April at a 0.06% increase to an annual rate of 4.97 million units . This was the highest level since November 2009.
Resales came in 9.7% higher than the previous year
Inventory for existing homes available for sale increased 12% to a 5.2 month supply.
New home sales rose 2.3% on a seasonally adjusted basis during April, according to the Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The increase was 29% higher than April 2012. Inventory for new homes available for sale rose by 3.3% to a supply of 4.1 months.
