This is a great post by Jeff Downs, addressing the best place to visit in WA! I am sort of hoping he will post his other 9 places :)

Seattle in my (biased) opinion is the best place in the world to live.  There are several reasons why I believe this but the main reason I love Seattle is because you are 2-3 hours away from thousands of unique things to do.

This is the first blog in a series I titled "My Top 10 Places To Visit In Seattle". With out further ado.

#1: Goose Prairie, WA

One of my favorite spots to visit in the summer is my family's old rustic cabin located in secluded Goose Prairie, Washington.  The cabin has been in our family for over 100 years and is the perfect place to go "off the grid" and enjoy the beauty of Nature.

You know the cabin is in a good location when I look forward to part of the drive just as much as actually arriving to our destination.  For those who have never driven over Chinook Pass I highly recommend it.  It has some of the best views of the Cascade Mountains and passes by the most photographed place in Washington the epic Lake Tipsoo.

As for the cabin itself It was built in the early 1900's by Paul Bunyon and a group of sasquatches that he found in the woods and trained how to use a hammer and saw.  After hours of blood sweat and beers the cabin that we call home was finally finished.

The cabin has a kitchen, a large rec room and a sleeping porch that faces the river.

Goose Prairie is a highlight of every summer thus making it one of my top 10 places to visit in Washington.
