OLIVE GARDEN'S SOFT OPEN IN ALVIN
Olive Garden held it's soft open today to help train the new staff, from waiters to the cooks in the back. The building exterior was beautiful and there was plenty of parking.
The interior of the building was clean, light and airy. It was not noisy like some of the other restaurants who have nothing built in to soften the noise level. The staff could not do enough to bring anything we wanted. Our friendly waitress, who shall remain nameless... told me she moved here from Chicago and was excited to work at the restaurant.
There were many employees there, but I did not recognize anyone. So I guess they hired the best of the best from a wide range of municipalities. Alvin is close in proximity to many cities. Alvin shares city lines with Pearland, Friendswood, Manvel, and Dickinson. In some cases there may be a one mile distance between cities but only one.
The food was great! We were offered either hor d'oeuvres or desert; then our endless salad and bread sticks, then our main entrée. I had a watermelon margarita and a peach tea that was awesome. In fact I think that was my favorite thing I had there, most likely because it was over a 100-degrees here today. It was all good! Since I can't eat much, my waitress boxed up my left overs for us to take home. Usually we just get a box and we do our own boxing.
It was a great dining experience and I plan to go there as many times as I can! Thank You Olive Garden! Plan to see me often!
