Try one of these fun events on for size.Independence Day is just a couple of days away.  Many Anchorage citizens have the day off work.  Kids are off from school.  What you are going to do to celebrate?  How about on of these Anchorage 4th of July festivities to ring in America's birthday?

Anchorage July 4th Parade and Festival

Search the MLS to find Anchorage homes for saleDowntown Anchorage, 8am to 6pm.  This family-friendly event starts off with a pancake breakfast, a patriotic-themed parade and continues throughout the day with fun activities for everyone to enjoy.  Proceeds from the pancake breakfast will benefit the local Anchorage Salvation Army.  For more info, please call (907) 279-7500.

Anchorage 4th of July Fireworks

Mulcahy Field, midnight.  Anchorage 4th of July festivities continue when you take in a doubleheader of America's favorite pastime: baseball.  The Anchorage Bucs take on the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at 7pm and 9:30pm.  A spectacular fireworks show will fill the Anchorage night sky at midnight.  Make sure you wear your patriotic best in red, white and blue!

Independence Day in Eagle River/Chugiak

On Wednesday, July 3rd, the official Eagle River fireworks presentation ends an evening of family fun at Lions Park (6:30pm to midnight).  On July 4th, the Chugiak parade begins at 2pm, rain or shine from Latimer Fire Station on Old Glenn Hwy.  Don't miss this great Alaska tradition.
