Let's say the industry really wants to win back its business...in its entirety.
How about NAR and Move, Inc. retool their deal and share the ownership in Realtor.com with their members - it would go along way to incentivize agents towards loyalty and support for their own system?
Also, clears up a lot that is currently upsetting the status quo?
Ownership of data - check
Data accuracy - check
Syndication, or lack of having it matter - check
Fear of model disruption, eliminated - check
Benefit ($) from the tech boom - check
Competition from portals, diminished - check
Life is good again - check
Hmmm....I'll take some equity :)

Somebody's pockets got lined when NAR sold Lifetime Rights to the Realtor.com domain name to Move, Inc.
Interestingly, Move Inc. is the only entity that can use the name "Realtor" without being subject to the NAR Code of Ethics.
