Did you know that it is now officially against the law in California to bribe, coerce, persuade, threaten or harass a Appraiser?  Well, As of January 2008 it is now.  I guess I am just one of those people that thought it was a law way before it became one.  So I guess I was living under my own law....Totally amazing.

Did you know that the California Dept. of Real Estate can take disciplinary action, fine you or remove your license, if you have a misdemeanor that affects your license. Now what could that mean,  Well, in case you can't think of what misdemeanor that is let me give you a hint...

DUI (driving under the influence) ring a bell? Yes, you guessed it, California Realtors  California is now a dry state, if you are going to tye one on to relieve stress or celebrating with your clients than I suggest you move to another state Or you had better develop a taste for Martinelli's Cider. California is going DRY!!!

SO the next time you want to relieve your stress when you are in the middle of that transaction with the agent from ??? you know where...Jog, work out, meditate but whatever you do, don't drink and drive.

Drown your sorrows and you may be out of a job tomorrow!!!

As long as your porsche doesn't have a real estate license and you don't mind the dents,  Why not?

Mary ~ Sad, but true that so many of those things happen! Here in Iowa we had to pass a law to say if you are convicted of a felony-- and are behind bars-- you cannot practice real estate!! We had a felon being the broker of record of a company FROM HIS JAIL cell! Always amazes me!

Don't you love when laws are passed that are just common sense?   I guess I better stop bribing all those appraisers!  It is like some of our California disclosures:  If the property is near a golf course, the property may be damaged by errant golf balls.  Ya think?   Some one has a firm grasp of the obvious!
