Bob Stewart gave me the finger!!

Ginger Wilcox and Bob Stewart Yes, you read that right- Bob Stewart, AR Community Builder gave me the finger and I loved every minute of it!

I had the privilege of meeting both Bob and Jonathan Washburn tonight, along with a number of fellow California rainers including Mary Pope Handy, Janet Guilbault, Mike Mueller,Brad Andersohn, Dionne Morgan, and Cindy Lin. We met in San Francisco for dinner at cozy Italian restaurant.

I was so excited to meet the crew- but I had no idea how easily I would connect with everyone. We have experienced and shared so many things together- it was clearly an instant kinship. The AR boys are AWESOME. Funny, nice, handsome- what is not to love? Mary Pope Handy was exactly as I expected she would be. We enjoyed sharing horror stories about various embarrassing moments showing homes- from naked people to almost dead people. Cindy Lin is very sweet and quiet. I didn't get enough chance to talk to her, unfortunately. I am looking forward to connecting with her one on one. Same with Dionne, who sat at the other end of the table. Mike Mueller was hilarious- a tad of a ham, surprise, surprise. Just like I expected. Brad Andersohn was trying to get me to sign up on a new social network. Just typical. Always handing out tips!!

Actually, everyone looks just like their profile pics- no fake realtor pics in this group.

As I was sitting next to Jonathan, a man at another table inched his way in next to me. I couldn't figure out what he was doing, until he got down on one knee...

No, he was not praising the rain gods!!

He got down and popped the big question to his girlfriend. She did accept and of course, we all had to take pictures of their happy moment.

Thank you everyone!! This was truly the highlight of my week!!

Ginger, that is really neat, We should be so social in Southern Calif. Good idea!!! maybe I will start it.

Ginger - Very neat indeed. And those eyes of Stewart could very easily be the theme to a 21st century version of an Alfred Hitchcock flick. Sounds like a wonderful time, I can't wait til San Fran...

Great Pictures, I was beginning to believe that Bob Stewart was not real, now I see a picture of him at the ActiveRain Social, amazing! Very cool. and to Mary, yes, there should be a Southern Cal Social, heck we know how to do parties! Lance

Ginger... I'll have to look back in my photos and see if that was the same finger Bob gave me.... From my experience in NYC everyone on AR is very easy to connect with.

LANCE- Yes, he is real. I wasn't sure if I would recognize him since I wasn't holding up the baby! It was very cool!

DAN- I am guessing he might have given you a different finger. Wait, maybe you gave it to him. Oh heck, i don't know but I am sure you had a great time in NYC too!

I had to come from Twitter to read about Bob Stewart giving you the finger... great photos.

The AR Kids are so cute and very nice too! Sounds like a very enjoyable event.

That sounds like a great party. I can only say that it couldn't have been truly fulfilling since I wasn't there to hang with you all. Seriously though, it sounds like a great time.

Be glad that's all he gave you, Ginger! Well, you certainly didn't screw around with your ActiveRain mingling. Forget the lunch dates with minions, you kicked it all the way up the ivory tower. I'm looking forward to getting some face time with fellow Rainers in the coming months, too. Thanks for the pictures, even if they do make Bob look like Lucifer's stunt double. ;)

Geez, I am glad someone else mentioned Bob's eyes! We were all laughing and calling those eyes demon eyes last night. Ginger is right when she says the boys are handsome and totally charming.

BRIAN WENTZ- It was a blast. Truly enjoyable!

BRIAN B- I am absolutely thrilled. I am still on a high. Why waste your time anywhere else but at the top??

CYNTHIA-The "top dogs" are really, really nice guys.

MAUREEN- Brad Andersohn tried to claim my headline for his pics, but I held my ground on it last night! We had a lot of laughs over that finger!

LINDA- I had heard that they were nice, but they truly are and fun too!!

BILL- As Brian Block mentioned, I have been wanting to meet some fellow bloggers for a while. I have now had 3 meetings and have met 13 people in just the last two weeks!!

Oh, I wrote Bob, he answered he was in SF doing AR stuff.............what???

JUSTIN- it was just amazing how easily we all connected.

MIKE- I wish we could have had more time too- I think we all wanted to stay longer, but the eyes were getting sleepy!! It was a long dinner, but it flew by. I love the colbert picture- good catch. It was a pleasure to meet you- can't wait to do it again!!!

LANE- The party at the Palms sounded like a blast. I do have to say, I love that it was a small group because we really got the opportunity to chat in a way you can't do in a big mixer at a bar or larger event.

KIM- I have been dying to have one for months. This one was a last minute surprise and it made my week!

So nice to hear they are real. Just kidding, glad to hear you had a good time with people that you have so much in common.

Having met the AR guys, Bob, Matt and Jonathan, in New York a few weeks ago, I can attest that they are awesome!

GINGER, I had an awesome time with all of you. It was truly a memorable ActiveRain occasion. Great photos. Thanks for being so handy with your camera.

The night was truly a blast! I am thrilled we were able to meet. Who would have thought we would witness a wedding proposal as a finale to our night long mixer?

If there is a SoCal one, I want to go... Any excuse to get out! :)

Awwww...what a sweet way to propose. Congratulations to them. Everyone looks so happy. You all look like you had a great time. There is definitely nothing not to like about them!

SALLY & DAVID- It is amazing when you meet people you have met online- I think you know far more about them from reading their blogs than you ever would from just meeting them in a regular setting.
