Independence Park Soccer Fields

Charlotte, North Carolina

Southeast of Memorial Stadium, across Charlottestowne Road, several large soccer fields offer free, easy access to open skies. These are reserved for viewing the fireworks as well, with parking at a nearby school. This is a central location to see the fireworks, and because it is a large open area, families should get here early to stake out a nice location (face away from the school), and picnic there on the field. If you come earlier in the day, do not forget sunscreen, as these fields are wide open to the sun. Remember to bring insect repellent for the night’s show.
